LIFE ENRICHING KINGDOM

   The hearts Kingdom  is an initiative by Queen of Heart Foundation Africa. It's aim is to create awareness about the Noncommunicable diseases (NDCs) in in Africa beginning from Kenya where the foundation is based.  The Kingdom has queens representing different counties and interest groups in Kenya. The queens are tasked with creating awareness  in their counties and also identifying cases that need attention and support.This blog is meant to support the foundation in reaching out to as many people as possible in order to create awareness and contribute in building a healthier society.

According to World Health Organization (WHO)
  • Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) kill more than 36 million people each year.
  • Nearly 80% of NCD deaths - 29 million - occur in low- and middle-income countries.

WHAT WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION SAYS ABOUT NDCs

Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), also known as chronic diseases, are not passed from person to person. They are of long duration and generally slow progression. The four main types of noncommunicable diseases are cardiovascular diseases (like heart attacks and stroke), cancers, chronic respiratory diseases (such as chronic obstructed pulmonary disease and asthma) and diabetes.
